District I - Barangay La Huerta

History

La Huerta is a Spanish word meaning “orchard”, a place where young ladies and men spending time walking or strolling around. This place seemed like a lover’s lane. It is a garden thickened with fruits, flowers and trees which is a breath-taking sight. La Huerta used to have a very colorful and beautiful garden that even the friars, Spanish señoritos and señoritas enjoyed its ambience. People who lived as far as Batangas could not resist to stop and admire its beautiful sight. Unfortunately, since no one could maintain the garden, the orchard slowly died. Hence, at present, not a single trace of the garden can be found.
